**RFES** If your elementary student has lost any items, please come to the school and look through our Lost and Found. There are several items that have been turned in. We will have our end of year awards assembly on Wednesday, May 28th at 8am in the auditorium and our Elementary School Field Day will be held on Thursday, May 29th from 9am-11am out on the football fields. Family and friends are welcome to attend both events. Lost and Found items will be available for collection during those times.
Exciting News from Rocky Ford School District!
We are proud to announce that Meloneer Wrestling Coach Mike Jurney has been named one of eight national finalists for the 2025 National Coach of the Year!
Coach Jurney’s leadership and unwavering dedication to our student-athletes continue to inspire, and we are thrilled to see his hard work recognized at the national level.
He will be honored at the National Coach of the Year Awards Banquet in Rapid City, South Dakota on June 25.

📢 Important Update for Parents!
Today (Thursday, May 15) is the last day of the Small Town Project's After-School Program at the Rocky Ford Library for this school year.
🚍 Beginning Monday, May 19, students will no longer go to the library after school. Instead, they will need to:
✅ Ride the bus home at regular dismissal time
OR
✅ Be picked up from parent pick-up after school.

Parents and guardians — your child’s CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) scores will now be available through a new online Family Portal! The portal provides quick, secure access to your child’s assessment results and helpful tools to understand their progress.

Main Event Adventure for 2nd–6th Grade AR Achievers!
On Tuesday, May 13, Rocky Ford Elementary students in 2nd through 6th grade who met their Accelerated Reader (AR) goals were rewarded with an exciting trip to Main Event in Colorado Springs!
From laser tag battles and bowling strikes to arcade games and lunch with friends, the day was packed with fun and well-deserved celebration. These students put in the effort all year long, and it truly paid off!
We’re proud of their dedication to reading and thrilled they had a day to remember. Keep up the great work!









📚 Kindergarten & 1st Grade AR Mystery Trip! 🎉
Congratulations to Rocky Ford Elementary Kindergarten and 1st grade students who met their Accelerated Reader (AR) goal for the year! As a reward for their hard work and love of reading, these young readers were treated to a special Mystery Trip to Main Event in Colorado Springs!
Students enjoyed an exciting day filled with laser tag, bowling, arcade games, and a tasty lunch—all to celebrate their reading success.

🎉 Class of 2025 Senior Parade – A New Tradition Begins! 🎓
On Thursday, May 8, the Rocky Ford Class of 2025 took part in the special senior parade—but this year marked a meaningful first!
For the first time, our graduating seniors walked from Preschool through High School, celebrating their journey with all students PK–12 on one campus. The halls were filled with cheers, high-fives, and heartfelt congratulations as younger students and staff honored the Class of 2025.
This new tradition beautifully highlights the full circle of a student’s journey in Rocky Ford Schools—from their very first steps into education to the moment they step into their future.

We are excited to announce an interest meeting for Junior High Cross Country on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 PM in the Upper Cafeteria. This meeting is for students currently in grades 5, 6, and 7 who are interested in joining the cross country team next school year.
We ask that a parent attend with their student to learn more about the upcoming season, training expectations, and how to get involved. We look forward to seeing you there!
