RFSD Parents / Guardians,
With the increase of COVID infection rates in the Arkansas Valley area, we understand that there is an accompanying rise of interest in the available COVID testing. As a reminder, any Rocky Ford student can be tested for free by contacting Nurse Kim Schroeder.
Nurse Schroeder can schedule appointments for either Monday or Tuesday of this week (April 26 or 27). The BinaxNOW rapid test, which has been approved by Colorado Public Health, is the specific COVID test used by the school district.
Once again, COVID testing is optional and is completely free for Rocky Ford students. To take advantage of this service, simply call one of the schools and ask for Nurse Schroeder to schedule an appointment and then complete the consent form in the following link and bring it with you to the scheduled appointment: https://5il.co/rxd6

Small Town Project is announcing that they are seeking a youth leader to join their board of directors. Applications are now open and are due on April 30th.
Youth Board members are high school students (Junior turning Senior) who are interested in developing their own leadership by becoming more involved in their community. Through participation on the board, youth leaders learn about many different projects that exist with the help of the Small Town Project. Board members bring back to their school peers and community organizations information they learn through the various volunteer projects and other opportunities for youth, as well as lead our youth committees.
Applicants must be current Juniors in area high schools and will sit on the board through the end of the 2021 school year, through the summer, and through their entire senior year.
Applications can be completed online or a paper application can be emailed, faxed, mailed, or dropped off at the Small Town Project office.
Questions can be directed to Duane Gurule at (719)316-2198 or dgurule@smalltownproject.org.
