Notice of Proposed Budget for 2012-2013 Notice is hereby given that a proposed budget has been submitted to the Board of Education of the Rocky Ford School District R2 for the year beginning July 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2013. This budget has been filed in the office of the Superintendent of Schools where it is available for public inspection. Such proposed budget will be considered at a budget hearing on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rocky Ford School District Administration Building, 601 South 8th Street, Rocky Ford, CO 81067. The proposed budget will be considered for final adoption at a regular meeting of the Rocky Ford School District R2 on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Any persons paying school taxes in said district may at any time prior to final adoption of the budget, file or register his/her objection thereto. Welcome to Rocky Ford School District! Welcome to the Rocky Ford School District website. Our purpose is to provide our students with a quality public education so that they may become contributing citizens. Rocky Ford is fifty miles east of Pueblo on Highway 50 on the plains of eastern Colorado. We are in the heart of the Arkansas Valley's rich agricultural country where melons, onions, and other vegetables are grown. Farmer's markets are a familiar sight from July through October. Our district consists of 825 students, 60 teachers, 55 classified, and 5 administrators. We have three schools: Washington Primary School serves preschool through 2nd grade; Jefferson Intermediate School is 3rd through 6th grade; and Rocky Ford Junior Senior High School houses 7th through 12th grade. We are proud of our district! Our staff is hard working, our students are learning, and our community gives us wonderful support.
